What can you use the app for?

LinkUp is a job search engine that focuses on jobs that have been indexed directly from the websites of employers and businesses. Rather than depending on job search results based on websites that receive payments to get a job posted, the LinkUp application is able to collect and present job postings directly from the employer's website. There are no job board listings used to provide job search results. Hence, there is a variety of accurate jobs provided including jobs that are not actively advertised. The advantage of this is that not all companies advertise their jobs on job boards or in national papers. There are some organizations that simply use their own website to advertise jobs and such jobs are picked up by the LinkUp application.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

The LinkUp application was founded in 2005 and is gaining even more popularity especially where jobs are highly sought after. The LinkUp application is designed to provide accurate job information directly from employer websites. There is no filters content and the company is located in Minneapolis.

What are the differences to other apps?

Rather than just listing jobs that get added to the site, they also list jobs that are much harder to find from all over the internet. It’s also free for both employers and job seekers which make it unique. Finding jobs is just a matter of searching using keywords. However, the location range seems constrained to particular areas such the US.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

LinkUp has a very easy to use interface which is kept as simple as possible. When you first visit the site it looks very similar to a regular search engine. You can start searching for jobs by entering keywords and the area where you want to work. This will turn up a list of jobs that you might be interested in doing. The website uses tabs to organize all of your job searches which makes it very easy to stay organized. All jobs have detailed profiles and it’s possible to apply to the job right from the website as you are automatically taken to that company’s recruitment site in the tab. If you’re an employer, then adding your site to the records is very easy.

How does the registration process work?

You do not need to sign up to an account to use the site, and actually no accounts are available. When you click the links for jobs you may find that there are options to sign up and login, this is because they are actually that company’s own recruitment websites.

What does it cost to use the application?

It is completely free to use LinkUp; they make their money from advertising revenue. The top two results are sponsored listings and generate an income for them.

Who would you recommend the application to?

LinkUp is ideal for anyone who is looking for a job that isn’t necessarily on other conventional job boards or on the internet. It maximizes your chances of finding a job that few people know about, which should make it much easier to actually get selected to the interview and get your foot in the door. It’s also an ideal way to find jobs from smaller companies who do not advertise their positions prominently.
